Accommodation
We offer a big choice of
apartments, villas and holiday houses in larger settlements like
Hvar, Stari Grad, Jelsa, Vrboska as well as the other settlements
on the island can enable a pleasant holiday for you, your family
and friends.
The town of Hvar is a popular resort. It is pretty lively in high
season, but sometimes also in low season. If jolly murmur and
liveliness do not disturb you, you can choose the accomodation with
window or balcony towards such an ambiance.. The view to the lively
square of Hvar or the vicinity to one of numerous clubs with good
music for your good mood, can prevail in your decision-making. If
you prefer the accomodation in the centre of the town without being
disturbed overnight, there are a lot of rooms and apartments in
narrow streets of the historical core of the town. In that case,
your favourite place will be in a very short distance from your
accomodation and your night's sleep doesn't have to be necessarily
disturbed. The whole town and especially the historical core is
situated on the funnel-like slope looking towards the port with
plenty of various boats. Most of the apartments, rooms, villas end
holiday houses have a wonderful view to the sea, the port of Hvar
and the islands of Paklinski.
The promenade in the port together with the town square are the
places where most of the events take place.
Further from the centre, but not too far, new family houses are
built in harmony with the architecture of the old part of the town.
Accomodation units in these houses are larger. They are usually
surrounded by gardens which are, in most of the cases, at disposal
of the guests. Cheap accomodation can be found in the outskirts of
the town. A few kilometers from the town of Hvar there is the
settlement of Milna. Accomodation units in this recently built
settlement are mostly apartements situated in the vicinity of
numerous restaurants and several beaches. It could be a very good
solution for those who have their own car and have intention to
spend a lot of time in the town of Hvar.
Although the town of Hvar is the leading tourist resort on the
island, the other settlements shouldn't be omitted. I repeat that
the whole island was proclaimed by leading travel magazines one of
the most beautiful islands of the world. It is not so important in
which settlement you will choose the accomodation for you, your
familiy and friends as it is important to explore the most
interesting places of the island. Larger settlements of the
northern part of the island like Stari Grad, Jelsa and Vrboska are
calmer then the town of Hvar. They differ a lot from Hvar in their
tourist orientation.
Stari Grad is a very quiet town with rich history. Its historical
core together with the large plain is under protection of UNESCO.
There are several hotels in the town as well as rooms and
apartments in private accomodation. A few kilometres from the town,
after Rudine in the direction of the cape of Kabal, there are very
nice places for sunbathing on flat rocks and swimming in turqoise
sea where you will be probably completely alone even in high
season.
Jelsa is the most suitable place for family holiday. Beside the
accomodation in hotel rooms and apartments, there is a large number
of rooms, apartments, holiday houses and villas in private
accomodation. A lot of apartments and rooms are situated along the
promenade between Jelsa and Vrboska. On the opposite side of this
promenade there are small pebbly and stone beaches.
Most of the apartments, rooms, holiday houses and villas in Vrboska
are situated in the vicinity of a long bay. Very picturesque old
part of the settlement with little bridges above the mirror calm
sea is situated at the end of this bay.
From Jelsa and Vrboska to the west there is Basina, a new
settlement where toursit offer is completely focused on swimming,
sunbathing and undisturbed night's rest. The thick pine wood around
the accomodation units as well as the northern orientation of the
settlement assure a pleasent holiday by the highest
temperatures.
Zavala, Ivan Dolac and Sveta Nedjelja are situated on the opposite,
central- southern side of the island at the foot of a mount planted
by vineyards. This is a wild part of the island with very intensive
summer colours. Apartments, rooms, holiday houses and villas are
situated above little pebbly beaches created by the activity of
large waves in winter period. As almost every owner of the
accomodation units has a vineyard on the steep slopes above the
village, it is certain that you will have the opportunity to taste
famous local wines.
Villages in the interior of the island like Dol, Vrbanj, Svirce,
Vrisnik, Pitve, Poljica, Zastrazisce, Gdinj, Bogomolje don't have a
lot of accomodation facilities, although there is a certain demand.
If return to the past is what you are looking for, the stay in one
of the villages between Jelsa and Sucuraj will certainly satisfy
your expectations. Dried figs, homemade brandy, wrinkled and
suntanned faces of rare eldely inhabitants wearing traditional
clothes are some of the images of that part of the island. We
recommend you to come by your own car ( or to rent one on the
island) as you could visit some of the numerous coves.
Sucuraj is the easternmost settlement on the island of Hvar. It is
a very quiet place with the accomodation in rooms, apartments and
holiday houses.
The accomodation in apartments and holiday houses can be also found
in numerous protected coves as well as on the Paklinski islands and
the islet of Scedro.
